Anti-Aging Skin Care
As you age, your skin ages along with you, and you inevitably develop the tell-tale signs of aging skin. Wrinkles, fine lines, and other blemishes on your skin eventually add up to make your skin look old and unhealthy. However, if you pay proper attention to anti-aging skin care, you can help prevent these effects or lessen them. Here are some simple guidelines you can follow to help reduce the visible signs of aging.
- Wear sunblock on a daily basis. Exposure to the sun is extremely harmful to your skin, and can cause it to age prematurely. Wearing sunblock will help protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation, preventing or slowing down the process of premature aging due to sunlight exposure.
- Avoid washing your skin more than twice a day. Washing your skin removes protective oil and moisture from your skin, exposing it to the dry surrounding air and allowing your skin to dehydrate. Water from the tap also contains large amounts of cholrine, which causes oxidative damage to your skin.
- Avoid smoking. The nicotine contained within cigarette smoke is extremely damaging to your skin, and can cause your skin to age faster than any other external factor. Smoking will cause your skin to age prematurely, and also give your skin a pale and unhealthy color.
- Use warm water instead of hot water. When you shower, you should not use very hot water, because this will cause your pores to open, exposing them to the dehydrating air around you and drying out your skin. Use warm water instead as this will help your skin retain moisture and is refreshing at the same time.
- Wear sunglasses when outdoors. When you venture outdoors and into direct sunlight, you should wear a pair of sunglasses, as the skin around your eyes is particularly sensitive and sunglasses will help protect it. You should ensure that the sunglasses you use are UVA and UVB certified, proving that they will provide adequate skin care.
- Exercise on a regular basis. Exercise helps keep your skin healthy, allowing increased bloodflow around the body that brings more oxygen and nutrients to your skin. This will help you maintain healthy, natural skin and also slow down the effects of aging on your skin.
- Choose your skin care products with care. Moisturizers and other skin care products can be a great help in maintaining the health of your skin. There is a large variety of skin care products available on the market, and each one has been formulated with a certain type of person in mind. Not all skin care products will be suitable for your skin, and you should ensure that you choose those products which are suited to you.
By following these simple steps to anti-aging skin care, you will be able to greatly reduce the effects of aging on your skin.
