Phenylephrine is also used for wrinkles. It begins with another medication named Preparation H. It shrinks the hemorrhoids. Preparation H is also used for reducing wrinkles. It has a derivation of live yeast and shark oil, which are responsible for the reduction of wrinkles. The same formula of preparation H has been changed to Phenylephrine.

Phenylephrine reduces puffiness and firms up the skin around the eyes. It causes the blood vessels to constrict, thereby shrinking the tissues under the eyes.

Although many researchers have not yet concluded, stating whether the usage of phenylephrine is beneficial or not, many claim to have experienced certain minor discomforts. These are dryness of the skin, a sensation of burning and inflammation and reddening of the face. Some patients have also said that the problem of puffed eyes do not decrease. In fact, the puffiness around the region seems to increase. The skin becomes itchy as well. Someone’s face remained swollen for a couple of days. If the medication suits you, it cures the problem. Nevertheless, if the medication does not suit you, you might suffer from such temporary problems.

It is advisable to consult a doctor before taking any dosage of phenylephrine. Over dosage might not suit you. Over dosage might show symptoms like slow heartbeat, sweating, tiredness, and dizziness. On a very serious note, one may also slip into coma.

Some researchers have also said that phenylephrine can be very effective for reducing wrinkles. However, the effects of phenylephrine are temporary. However, follow a strict routine while you consuming phenylephrine. Always take precautions when you are on such medications.

- A glass of water should be drunk while taking an oral dose of phenylephrine.
- Never take an over dose of such medications.
- Pregnant women should not consume phenylephrine because it is still a doubt whether this medication will affect the baby or not.
- Lactating mothers should not take a single dose without the permission of a doctor.
- You should be cautious especially when you doing some activity involving high risks. For instance, driving or some other mechanical operations. Consumption of phenylephrine causes dizziness, hallucination, drowsiness, etc, which may lead to an accident.

You should also state your history of health conditions to the doctor before taking this medication. If you suffer from liver disease or heart disease, whether you are diabetic or not, do you suffer from heart related problems are not, etc. All problems should be mentioned. There is no way you would want to fall ill to look younger. Then what is the use of that young look when you cannot even show it off?
